NEWS - KTF KIDS IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA ARE LOVING THEIR TENNIS
| South Australia - Published on November 30‚ 2009 |
FROM GRANT DANIEL
I have been visiting the Swan Reach area regularly and the local school, Swan Reach Area School, is fortunate to have great teaching staff. They are like big brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles to the pupils. Many of the students readily participate at group events and tennis clinics and towards the end of my visit at the school I found a teacher willing to set up a tennis tournament during the term, so I hope to make a special visit to open the event. I provided a number of ideas so that the whole of the school could be in teams with varying rules and conditions that allow maximum involvement so I am really looking forward to that.
Feedback from Swan Reach School:
“The children were really enthused about tennis. It was a really good program and the class enjoyed participating. The program ensured involvement for all students at all skill levels. Grant also catered for Adam, a wheel chair bound student, and modified all activities to allow his maximum participation. Each lesson was well organised with a different skill focus each time. Every lesson built upon the skills previously practiced. There was a variety of equipment available each lesson which was fantastic and games allowed students to work individually, in pairs and in groups. We are now having to organise a roster for use of the tennis courts at lunch times!!”
Feedback from Wallaroo Primary School:
“All at Wallaroo thought the KTF lessons were great! Well organised and lots of good resources including different sized racquets, lots of balls, balls on elastic, nets, ball machine and targets. The lessons were structured well and each skill was taught thoroughly. We look forward to the Program in the future. It was wonderful to see the skill level improve so much and great to see lots of children choosing to play tennis in their own time”. |
