NEWS - ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR FOR KTF IN NSW
| New South Wales - Published on November 27‚ 2009 |
BY WILLIE QUAN
We are now into term 4 of 2009 and it has been another successful year for KTF in NSW. All reports received are very encouraging; school principals, sport coordinators and Teachers are very supportive of our Program and show interest in the progress of the students. All the children in the Program not only enjoyed their tennis but have been well-behaved and shown improvement during the lessons.
The success of our Program reflects the dedication of our professional coaches. I would like to acknowledge and thank each one of them who have worked wonders with the children, especially with those students whose first time it is holding a tennis racquet. Many thanks to Geoffrey Booth, Adolfo Garcia, Trent George, Michael Mills, Helen Thompson, Jill and Kerry White.
KTF Coach Adolfo Garcia, who has coached at Metford Public School for a number of years, has now moved on and he is now coaching on the North side of Brisbane. We wish Adolfo all the best in his new venture.
Adolfo sent this report before heading to Brisbane:
“This year has been among the most successful of all.
I have seen a massive change in all the kids in terms of participation, attitude, self-esteem, and in some cases, leadership. Wherever possible we encourage kids to get involved in progressing their lesson each week and move on to bigger and better things. It has been tremendous, and it is with great regret that I pass on the reins to Linda Bullent, the new Manager of Hunter Tennis Resort. I am leaving to head to Queensland to run an elite coaching program that involves Gyrotonic ®”
Mike Reynolds, Principal at Ellangowan Public School reports:
“Thank you for the opportunity to be part of the Kids Tennis Foundation Program. We have really enjoyed the tennis and the development of skills that have become apparent in the children over the period of time in the Program.
Many of the children are now involved in a weekend sport and I think a key reason for this has been their enjoyment of sporting activities at school. Kids Tennis was an integral part of this development.
Trent George has provided a professional and enjoyable coaching service and has been an excellent role model for the children. Thank you again for the service you provide and we look forward to reapplying to be part of the Program in two years time.”
Metford Public School
“Our students have really enjoyed the KTF Program over the past two years. The Program has grown to become one very thorough skill building and fitness activity/session. The coaches have shown their expertise professionally and have shown great patience and dedication. Each session was well presented, varied and pitched at the individual students’ levels. Well done and thank you very much for this great Program.”
Avondale Primary School, Cooranbong
“We are fully supportive of the KTF Program and have had many positive outcomes from our involvement. We look forward to having the Program recommence in 2012. Our coach, Geoff Booth, has been fantastic and is a great ambassador for Kids Tennis Foundation.”
Revesby Public School
The KTF Program was introduced for the first time at Revesby Public School. The children are very keen and excited, as most of them have never had a tennis lessons before, and really look forward to their lessons each week. It is great to see the students thriving and playing and rallying with fellow students.
We thank Peter Watson, Sport Coordinator, who is very supportive of the KTF Program and we look forward to continuing with the Program in 2010 at Revesby Public School.
