NEWS - AUSTRALIAN OPEN CHARITABLE FUND HELPS KTF AND MS AUSTRALIA
| Victoria - Published on July 24‚ 2006 |
Tennis fans visiting Australian Open 2006 on the middle Sunday, Charity Sunday, had the opportunity to help raise money for two very worthy causes simply by depositing ticket stubs in collection bins around Melbourne Park. Through the Australian Open Charitable Fund, Multiple Sclerosis Australia and Kids Tennis Foundation shared in the proceeds from the donation of $2 for every stub redeemed.
Additional money for the AO Charitable Fund was raised during this year’s event through sales of special Australian Open wristbands. Certainly a very popular tennis accessory!
And... a very big thank you to Garnier. Not only has Garnier been a huge presence at the Australian Open, so too at KTF functions. Garnier has been so generous in donating product for every guest at these fundraisers. In addition, this year Garnier donated a percentage of the sales of their mini bottles of Ambre Solaire sunscreen sold during AO 2006. Lucky for KTF, many scorching summer days ensured that this was a very popular (if not essential!) product.
Sincere thanks to all those patrons at this year’s Open who not only deposited their ticket stubs on Charity Sunday but also purchased the fantastic wrist bands and mini bottles of Ambre Solaire sunscreen during the tournament.
Kids Tennis Foundation sincerely thanks the Australian Open for their ongoing support and is truly privileged and ever so grateful to once again receive such a generous donation. This money certainly goes a long way in helping Kids Tennis Foundation provide many more financially and socially disadvantaged children throughout Australia with the opportunity to learn and play tennis, not to mention the boost to their self-esteem and self-confidence. |
