NEWS - PRESIDENTS REPORT 2012

Victoria - Published on September 29‚ 2011
Presidents Report 2012Kids Tennis Foundation has been “brightening the lives” of disadvantaged kids for more than 28 years now, an achievement of which all of us at KTF are very proud indeed.
Kids Tennis Foundation programs help build self confidence and self esteem, provide a lifetime recreational outlet, foster tolerance and co-operation between children of many varied nationalities and cultures and…… much, much more.

Sincere thanks to Tennis Australia for their continued & essential support in once again choosing KTF to be a beneficiary of funds raised on “Charity Sunday” at Australian Open 2012, receiving in excess $14.000. The Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation (VIC) also provided a grant of $10,000 and for this, we are truly grateful.

The success of our Annual KTF Gala, “Technicolour Tennis Ball” at the Park Hyatt in August, was in no small way thanks to Craig Willis for his masterful role as MC and to the many organisations, companies and individuals who contribute so generously in so many ways. Great entertainment from “The Vibes” and spirited bidding at both main and silent auctions made for a fun filled night and a big financial success for KTF. Sincere thanks to all donors, in particular those of Major items including Etihad Airways, Spotless, 3AW, Movida Restaurant, Maxwell & Williams, De Bortoli Wines and Heineken and, congratulations to all lucky bidders.

Don’t forget to put FRIDAY 17th AUGUST in your diary for this year’s Gala.

Once again, on the eve of Australia Day, our “Summer Party” at the beautiful home of Paul & Lesley McNamee was a night to remember. Entertainment from Captain Spalding Band, superb food, excellent wines along with a host of past tennis greats, ensured everyone had a ball. Many thanks Paul and Lesley for your ongoing generosity & hospitality.

And another winner……The Annual KTF Mothers’ Day Lunch held at Leonda by the Yarra in May! Thanks to all the wonderful ladies who attended and contributed so much to the success of this function. With Ann Peacock as special guest speaker, great food, wonderful venue, fantastic gift bags and prizes, it is no wonder this function was a sell out.

The hard working members of the KTF Social Committee and their help with the production and organization of these functions ensures they are successful fundraisers

Most important to the successful implementation and running of KTF programs are our State Administrators, coaches, schools and their enthusiastic staff. It is no wonder that we receive so much praise and endorsement of KTF programs with such fantastic support.
At this point, I would like to thank our “retiring” NSW Administrator, Willie Quan, for his dedication & commitment to KTF over more than 20 years. We wish you every happiness for the future.

We know KTF is in good administrative hands. CEO Susie Norton has worked tirelessly to maintain as many programs as possible with the reduced funds available and has made significant cost savings as well. Her dedication, love and commitment is the lifeblood of KTF. A huge, huge thanks Susie. And to Sarah, our National Co-ordinator, for your dedication, devotion & generosity, sincere thanks. A real asset to the team! Last, but by no means least, thank you to the Members of the KTF Board who donate their time and work hard to ensure that KTF continues to make a difference in the community.

We have many other wonderful supporters too who contribute in cash or kind and give us the opportunity to still deliver many programs throughout Australia.

A very big thank you to all.
