Kids Tennis Foundation returns to Evatt Primary in North Canberra for another term and it is pretty obvious that all the students in Glynis Steward's Grade 5/6 class are enjoying having the tennis come to them. Coach Owen said "It is great to come to a school where the kids are excited and want to play. As they build on skills developed in pervious terms, you can see them applied with the longer rallies in the games they play with each other.” Regular and dedicated participant Merhawi Berhe says "It's a fun game and cool to play" and enjoys playing each week. Inspired by his tennis idol, Leyton Hewitt, Merhawi enjoys working on his powerful backhand, his favourite shot. Currently the class plays tennis on the school’s basketball court with portable nets, but the class is keen to move it up onto real tennis courts at the Melba Tennis Club sometime in the future. “It would be great to see them play on a larger court" says Coach Owen "the extra space will add a new dimension to their games and deferent set of challenges". A special thanks goes to Evatt Primary Teacher Glynis Steward for squeezing in time for Kids Tennis Foundation during this and last terms busy class schedule
