What a fantastic day was had by all at the recent “70’s FOREVER” KTF Mothers’ Day Lunch!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Louise Higgins and support from Kate Hill Flowers and Function Accessories, the beautiful White Cyclamen centrepieces looked a picture framed by the striking bright blue & white décor of the RACV Club Ballroom.

Special Guest Entertainers, “The Poptease Divas”, took all the ladies on a journey through the dazzling, disco decade of the 70’s. They excited all as they performed all the tunes that made you want to get your groove on and dance!!! These three gorgeous girls, Aly Stapleton and Angie Stapleton and Breanna Anderson, did not disappoint.

And, this year, the Gift Bags, donated fully by CHEMIST WAREHOUSE, were certainly the biggest & the best ever.  Included in each were an incredible 20 products or more! How very, very generous. Sincerest of thanks to Victoria & Elisha. You certainly made 300 ladies very happy indeed!

The success of the day too was in no small way thanks to the many donors of the fabulous Raffle Prizes and Silent Auction items, namely Abbe Corrugated Cardboard Packaging (Julie O’Sullivan), chapter one @ 230 (Susanne Hoppe, Jacqui Bonnet), Coach, Dilmah, DeBortoli, Elena Chan, Gianna Trovato, Jane Anderson, Joan Cubbin, Jody Costantino, Keon Couture (Shirley Keon), Laser Clinics Australia (Kate & Claudio Szabo at Prahran), Mandy Nowlan, Marco Polo (Anthea Phelps), Montara Wines (Billie Stapleton), Ronni Douglas, Studio PP, Yarra Trail (Anthea Phelps).

And this year, two items were part of a “live” auction. The first item was Afternoon Tea & Champagne for 8 guests on the Magical Mornington Peninsula at Merricks North with Luxury Lexus Vehicles chauffeuring those lucky guests to this superb property. Sincere thanks to the very generous Cathy & Brian Austin.

The second item, in keeping with the Afternoon Tea theme, was Afternoon Tea “At Home” with Maxwell & Williams. This superb M&W collection of teapots, cups & saucers, plates, platters, cake stand, cake forks, teaspoons and more, certainly created a lot of interest. Once again, incredible support from M&W. A big thank you.

The Raffle, together with donations for the stylish floral centrepieces plus money raised from the sale of the Main Auction and Silent Auction items contributed to the day being a sure winner for KTF. Funds raised at the lunch will go towards KTF programs for underprivileged kids, with the main aim to help raise the self esteem & self confidence of these kids through the introduction of tennis.

The fantastic bottles of the very popular “Stonier” Pinot Noir from the very generous Cathy & Brian Austin were winners as table prizes, as was the jewellery and the chocolates for all guests thanks to Mandy Nowlan & Jane Anderson respectively.

Special thanks to Jeanine & Ian Hickey and all at Tomorrow Agency for their generosity with the fabulous “70’s Forever” design & production of the invitation and the printing of the programme and to Complete Colour Printing for the printing of the invitation.

Once again, the incredible contribution and the tireless work of the KTF Social Committee girls ensured the day was a huge success. Jane Anderson, Jody Costantino, Joan Cubbin (NSW), Louise Higgins, Lesley McNamee, Judy Norton, Elena O’Brien, Julie O’Sullivan and Gianna Trovato are just so loyal, committed and……great fun and also dear friends. And, special welcome to our “new” Social Committee gal, Anthea Phelps. Thanks to Pam Saxon, Carmel Joyce and Sandy Gillooly for lending a hand too.

To photographer, Cathy O’Reilly, thanks again for your wonderful work and sincere thanks to Emily & the staff at RACV Club for helping to make this day a great success.
