EVENTS & FUNCTIONS
GALA BALL 2007
Venue: Park Hyatt Melbourne
Date: Friday August 24‚ 2007 at 7:00 pm
The Ballroom at the gorgeous Park Hyatt in Melbourne looked truly stunning. The theming extended from the gold pillars to the striking gold and floral centrepieces. The food, too, was fantastic, the fine wines and ales excellent and the lively performance of numbers from the 60’s and beyond by “Xcite” ensured that the dance floor was always packed.
David Gould was not only wonderful as MC but, as a special treat, entertained the capacity crowd with his truly magnificent voice, adding a special touch to the evening.
Items in the main auction attracted much attention with fabulous prices being realised thanks to the wonderful skills of auctioneer, Andrew MacMillan. Sincere thanks to MFS Australian Open Golf, Spotless Group Limited, Melbourne & Olympic Parks, Delaware North Companies Australia, Hyundai Hopman Cup, The Melbourne Wine Room and Hal Salter, Maxwell & Williams, OTI Racing & Bloodstock, Samsung, Tennis Australia and Geoff Pollard for these truly sensational auction items.
Thanks to substantial donations from the many hundreds of KTF supporters, the “Treasure Trove” silent auction items created much interest and, along with the fantastic prizes on offer in the Grand Raffle, helped raise lots of money too. Items ranged from weekend retreats to racing packages, clothing vouchers, art work, jewellery, dining vouchers, sporting goods, manchester, beauty products, and much more.
The incredible generosity of OAMPS Insurance Brokers, Principal Sponsor of Kids Tennis Foundation, in donating a special gift for all guests, together with that of De Bortoli Wines, Lion Nathan Australia, Abbe Corrugated, Louise Higgins, HSJ Advertising, Complete Colour Printing, Dr Lewinn’s Private Formula, EMI Music, Function Accessories, Music Theatre Australia and SportsBet, ensured that not only was this function truly a social success but also definitely a financial one too.
And, for their substantial contributions, KTF would also like to thank John Higgins, Ruth Higgins, Ed Eshuys, Paul Vandenberg, Kevin George, Jeff Cohenca, Ken Forge, Richie Gee, Eric Campbell, Andrew Macmillan, Chris & Anne Lawrence and Simon Roach.
Heartfelt thanks to those wonderful organisations and individuals who organised tables and special sincere thanks to KTF National Co-ordinator, Kate Szabo and the members of the Kids Tennis Foundation Social Committee – Jane Anderson, Mary Eke, Louise Higgins, Lesley McNamee, Judy Norton, Julie O’Sullivan and Gianna Trovato - for their dedication and commitment prior to and on the night.
Funds raised on the night will enable Kids Tennis Foundation to continue to provide tennis coaching on a regular weekly basis for many thousands of financially and socially disadvantaged kids throughout Australia.
