| MOTHERS' DAY LUNCH 2009 |

 Leonda by the Yarra was the setting for the Annual Kids Tennis Foundation Mothers’ Day Lunch and how beautiful did the room look, with the bright & beautiful yellow & white décor highlighted by the magnificent centerpieces of white ceramic vases filled with masses of yellow orchids most generously donated by Louise Higgins and Kate Hill Flowers respectively.
With close to 350 guests these were snapped up & an extra $2,000 from these alone boosted funds raised to help disadvantaged kids. Thank you just so much Louise and Kate.
Another dear friend of KTF and Managing Director L’Oreal, Mark Tucker, donated (as he has done for many years now) the most fabulous Garnier gift bag for all guests present and as usual, just so popular and very much appreciated.
In fact, everything about the day was a winner, in particular being entertained by the very talented Wendy Stapleton accompanied by her equally talented musician husband, Paul Norton (and no…unfortunately not related to me!). Wendy’s rendition of many “Dusty” songs & more had the room jumping…yes, nearly everyone was up dancing! What fun and what an incredible, special lady!
An extremely successful raffle plus donations for the floral centrepieces helped raise in excess of $15,000. This great result means that KTF will be able to maintain regular weekly coaching programs and help put smiles on the faces of many underprivileged children throughout Australia.
Since its inception 14 years ago now, this function has become just so very popular in no small way due to the hard work of the KTF Social Committee namely Jane Anderson, Mary Eke, Louise Higgins, Lesley McNamee, Judy Norton, Julie O’Sullivan and Gianna Trovato with special thanks to KTF National Co-ordinator Kate Szabo.
Sincere thanks to the many generous supporters of KTF too including Leonda by the Yarra, Melimar Estate, Violet Priscilla (Mandie Nowlan), Barbara Guzzardi, Abbe Corrugated Cardboard Packaging, Australian National Couriers, Catherine Austin, Endota Spa (Daylesford), Enhance Accessories & Gifts, Janet Spooner, Mirka at Tolarno Hotel, Paterson’s Cakes, Virginia Hellier, Sue Trethowan-Jones and De Bortoli wines for their fantastic donations. Special thanks to HSJ Advertising for the design and production of the invitation and to Complete Colour Printing for the printing of same, to Pageset for the printing of the programmes and to photographer Cathy O’Reilly.
With a fantastic Guest Entertainer, wonderful setting, superb centrepieces, great food, truly popular gift bags plus chocolates for all and spot prizes for many, it is no wonder everyone was so impressed and had an absolute ball!
