MOTHERS' DAY LUNCH 2006
Venue: Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club
Date: Wednesday May 3‚ 2006 at 12:00 pm
The “Absolutely Fabulous” Mothers’ Day Lunch on Wednesday 3 May was certainly the biggest and the best yet! Held at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, this annual event is always extremely popular, but this year the capacity crowd had the lovely Kooyong Room bursting at the seams.
“Patsy Down Under” was certainly a hit with her unique way of meeting & greeting and had many of the 300 guests thinking they were on the set of “Ab Fab”! The scene was set for what was to be an afternoon jam packed with entertainment & fun.
Guest speakers, Sally Browne & Adele Palmer were not only generous in donating their time but were absolutely fabulous in sharing many wonderful & inspirational stories. And, with fantastic Garnier gift bags and chocolates and “New Idea” or “That’s Life” magazines and OAMPS perfume pens and hair brushes for all guests, plus table gifts and spot prizes for many, it is no wonder that everyone had a fantastic time. In addition, fashion from “The Ark” proved very popular and items on offer from “Enhance Accessories and Gifts” were real winners too.
The raffles were extremely successful. With in excess of $12,000 being raised on the day (a record for this function), Kids Tennis Foundation will be able to maintain many of the regular weekly coaching programs with financially and socially disadvantaged children in primary schools throughout Australia.
Sincere thanks to Principal Sponsor OAMPS Insurance Brokers and Garnier, HSJ Advertising & Impact Digital, Carol Mules, Abbe Corrugated, Cathy O’Reilly, Australian National Couriers, Enhance Accessories and Gifts, Melimar Estate, Melissa Skewes, Pacific Magazines, Sue Trethowan-Jones, Marriner Theatres, The Ark, Eastside Restaurant, Queen Victoria Market and Intimo Lingerie for wonderful donations all of which helped make this day not only a social but certainly a financial success.
Thanks also to the dedicated members of the KTF Social Committee Jane Anderson, Mary Eke, Louise Higgins, Lesley McNamee, Mary Miller, Judy Norton, Susie Norton, Julie O’Sullivan, Kate Szabo and Gianna Trovato, not only for their commitment but also for their time and in many cases donation of goods too.
