X-mas In July

“Wow” was the reaction when guests entered the Park Hyatt Ballroom for the Annual KTF Gala on Friday 31 July. The Park Hyatt Ballroom looked truly spectacular thanks to the generosity of Louise Higgins and the support of Function Accessories. The magnificent white Christmas trees and the red, white & green décor certainly made all the guests feel as though they were definitely at a “Christmas in July” function.

Michael Felgate was fabulous as MC and it was great to see many celebrities from both Channel 7 & 9 there to give a helping hand during the night. Coxy showed all that he hasn’t lost it as a drummer and the banter between Michael (7) & Jo Hall & Clint Stanaway (9) drew much laughter. Feedback has been just wonderful with many commenting on the fabulous venue, wines and entertainment, this year provided by one of Australia’s best corporate bands, “The Vibes”, once again thanks to the generosity of Abbe Corrugated Cardboard Packaging. Every time they took to the stage the dance floor was packed! The Main Auction was an exciting part of the evening with truly amazing items on offer.

Milo Rasinac and Andrew Johnston, auctioneers extraordinaire from Nelson Alexander, generated lots of excitement and enthusiasm which resulted in fantastic amounts being realized for the MCC Corporate Dining for 10 at a 2016 AFL game, Dinner for 10 “At Home” cooked by DOMINIC BONADIO (Il Duca Restaurant), 3AW Advertising Package, SEALY Posturepedic Queen Bed Ensemble, RYOBI “Garden” Package, Parliament House Canberra Experience (THE HON JOSH FRYDENBERG), NINE News Experience, Medallion Club Package (CH 7), MELBOURNE VICTORY A LEAGUE PREMIERS memorabilia and a Dine (ENTRECOTE PARISIAN STEAKHOUSE) Wine & Movie Experience (HAL & GEOFFREY SALTER).

A great array of fantastic items and prizes were also on offer in the Silent Auction and Grand Raffle, including extremely generous donations from Alcaston Gallery, Antler Luggage, Art Series Hotel Group, Betty McDowell Lingerie, 230 Boutique, Consolidated Travel, Cricket Australia, Couriers Express, Crown Metropol, David Strong, Idiom Events, Independent Cement & Lime P/L, Lleyton Hewitt, Maxwell & Williams, Medibank, Melbourne Stadiums Ltd, Montsalvat, Moonee Valley Racing Club, Morris Jones Restaurant, Nowlan Fashion Agency, Oliana Foods, Pandora on Little Collins, Peter & Sandra Gillooly, Solomon Cottage, Swisse, Tall Timbers, Tennis Australia, The Hon John Alexander MP, Tony & Joe Bongiorno, Total Tennis, Union Dining, Valda Walsh, Zagame’s and Zoe Walsh. How lucky is Kids Tennis Foundation to have such fantastic support from so many wonderful and very generous organizations, companies and individuals! The generous support of DE BORTOLI WINES & LION AUSTRALIA certainly helped “loosen the purse strings”, of SWISSE who donated many gifts for all guests and ensured that there would be happy & healthy guests, of TOMORROW AGENCY who designed and produced the fabulous invitations and programmmes, of COMPLETE COLOUR PRINTING for the printing of same all ensured that this function was not only truly a social success but also definitely a financial one.

Special thanks to the members of the Kids Tennis Foundation Social Committee for their incredible dedication and commitment prior to and on the night and for the many items donated by them. This function would not be the success that it is without Jane Anderson, Jody Costantino, Joan Cubbin (NSW), Louise Higgins, Lesley McNamee, Judy Norton, Mandy Nowlan, Sarah Nowlan, Julie O’Sullivan and Gianna Trovato. To photographer, Cathy O’Reilly and…… all those wonderful people who organised tables, heartfelt thanks. As a result of funds raised, Kids Tennis Foundation will be able to continue to provide coaching programs on a regular weekly basis for many, many disadvantaged children throughout Australia, and, in the process, the boost to their self-esteem and self-confidence the important end result. There is a big short fall between the funding we receive and what it costs to run all our programs, hence our fund raising events are extremely important.
