Gold Glitz & Glamour : KTF BALL

Glamourous and elegant are words that come to mind when describing the Ballroom at the RACV Club for the Kids Tennis Foundation  “Gold, Glitz & Glamour” Gala on 7 October. Thanks to the generosity of Louise Higgins & Function Accessories, the gold and black décor together with the beautiful gold candelabras certainly created a truly stylish setting for this annual function.

“Coxy” was fantastic as MC and in the 29 years of organizing KTF Galas and thanks to Abbe Corrugated Cardboard Packaging, Wendy Stapleton & The Right Brothers definitely one of the best bands ever to perform at this fun night. A packed dance floor at every opportunity testament to this.

To help guests better understand the purpose of Kids Tennis Foundation and to set the scene for a successful fund-raising evening, guests were shown “The Story of KTF”, which was produced at no cost by the wonderful Seven Network. And, what a reaction with many commenting on the wonderful achievements of KTF over the past 33 years and the exciting news about the recently launched Ken Rosewall Regional Project.

How lucky and ever so grateful is Kids Tennis Foundation to have such fantastic support from so many wonderful and very generous organizations, companies and individuals!

Special thanks to Jody Costantino and her wonderfully efficient helpers on the night, to Elena O’Brien for her technical help in the weeks prior to the Gala, to the members of the Kids Tennis Foundation Social Committee for their dedication and commitment prior to and on the night, namely Jane Anderson, Joan Cubbin (NSW), Louise Higgins, Lesley McNamee, Judy Norton, Mandy Nowlan, Julie O’Sullivan and Gianna Trovato, to photographer Cathy O’Reilly and to all those wonderful people who organised tables.

In excess $60,000 raised.......Truly a wonderful result!

As a result of funds raised, Kids Tennis Foundation will be able to continue to provide coaching programs on a regular weekly basis for many, many disadvantaged children throughout Australia, and, in the process, the boost to their self-esteem and self-confidence the important end result. There is a big short fall between the funding we receive and what it costs to run all our programs, hence our fund raising events are extremely important.
