2016 Mothers Day Lunch

PSCHEDELIC “SWINGIN’ 60’S” Another sensational performance by Wendy Stapleton singing hits from the “Swingin’ 60’s” saw all the ladies at the Annual Kids Tennis Foundation Mothers’ Day Lunch smiling, singing along and up dancing. What great fun! In keeping with the theme, the Ballroom at the Pullman Melbourne on the Park (formerly Hilton) in East Melbourne looked a picture with psychedelic coloured décor from floor to ceiling, thanks once again to the generosity of Louise Higgins and the contribution of Kate Hill Flowers and Function Accessories. And, this year, the Gift Bags for all 300 ladies were bigger and better than ever with goodies amounting to in excess of $300! Included in each bag were Violet Priscilla leather gloves, Amandarine earrings, Swisse products x 4, Chemist Warehouse make up items x 4, Designer Brands eye pencil, Better Homes & Gardens magazine (Julia Zaetta), Maxwell & Williams oil & vinegar bottle, Ocean Spray Craisins, chocolates from Jane Anderson and vouchers from Morris Jones Bar & Restaurant, Coco Republic, Betty McDowell Lingerie and Studio PP. Sincerest of thanks to all these wonderful donors…. certainly responsible for smiles all round. The success of the day too was in no small way thanks to the many donors of the fabulous Raffle Prizes and Silent Auction items, namely Abbe Corrugated Cardboard Packaging (Julie O’Sullivan), Aria Bar & Restaurant, Betty McDowell Lingerie, 230 Boutique (Susanne Hoppe), Catherine Austin, Coco Republic (Sue Donovan), DuoViva, Endota Spa Bourke St & Cheltenham, Gianna Trovato, Inika Cosmetics, Joan Cubbin, Malouf Zum Zum Restaurant, Maxwell & Williams, Morris Jones Bar & Restaurant, Pandora (Rhonda Thatcher & Emily Brockhoff), Pullman Melbourne on the Park, Studio PP, Terence Murphy, Vivienne Pye and Yarra Trail (Anthea Phelps). And, the fantastic Melimar Estate bottles of wine from the very generous Catherine & Brian Austin were winners as table prizes. The Raffle, together with donations for the stylish floral centrepieces plus money raised from the sale of the Silent Auction items and the sale of items from Nowlan Fashion Agency’s Accessories stall contributed to the day being a sure winner for KTF. With funds raised going towards KTF programs for underprivileged kids, a new “KTF Story” video was shown on the day, highlighting the past, present & future of KTF and the work done to help raise the self esteem & self confidence of the disadvantaged kids involved in the many KTF programs. And, how generous of Ch 7! This video produced by them at no cost to KTF. Special thanks to Jeanine Hickey and Stacy Smith and all at Tomorrow Agency for their generosity with the fabulous “Swingin’ 60’s” design & production of the invitation and the printing of the programme and to Complete Colour Printing for the printing of the invitation. Once again, the incredible contribution and the tireless work of the KTF Social Committee girls ensured the day was a huge success. Jane Anderson, Joan Cubbin (NSW), Jody Costantino, Louise Higgins, Lesley McNamee, Mandy Nowlan, Judy Norton, Julie O’Sullivan and Gianna Trovato are all worth their weight in gold! Thanks so much gorgeous gals! To photographer, Cathy O’Reilly, thanks again for your wonderful work.and sincere thanks to Sally & the staff at Pullman Melbourne on the Park for helping to make this day a great success.
