2014 KTF Gala Ball

Back

How beautiful the Sofitel Ballroom looked for the Kids Tennis Foundation “Pearl Party” on Friday 1 August. Thanks to the generosity of Louise Higgins & Function Accessories, the masses of pearls adorning napkins & draped from the superb table lamps & matching the cream & black décor certainly created a truly stylish setting for this Annual Gala. It was fantastic to see Channel 9 celebrities in attendance, in particular the winner of “The Voice 2013”, Harrison Craig. Fabulous too having so many sporting and corporate identities in attendance especially former tennis legends, Wayne Arthurs & Richard Fromberg. Feedback has been just wonderful with many commenting on the high quality of the food, the wine and the entertainment, provided by one of Australia’s most sought after “big” bands, “The Beven Addinsall Band” thanks to the generosity of Abbe Corrugated Cardboard Packaging. Every time they took to the stage the dance floor was packed! The Main Auction was an exciting part of the evening with truly amazing items on offer. Milo Rasinac, auctioneer extraordinaire, generated lots of excitement and enthusiasm which resulted in fantastic amounts being realized for the 2 GARUDA INDONESIA Business Class return airfares to Bali plus accommodation at THE STONES, “Dinner for 10 At Home” cooked by THE BIG GROUP, MCG Corporate Dining for10 at a 2015 AFL game, 3AW Advertising Package, Share in an OTI RACING horse, SEALY Posturepedic Queen Bed, TENNIS AUSTRALIA AO 2015 Women’s Final Tickets and Nick Kyrgious memorabilia and, being the “Pearl Party”, a striking “PANDA PEARL” necklace & earrings. A great array of fanastic items and prizes were also on offer in the Silent Auction and Grand Raffle, including extremely generous donations from Kailis Austrlia Pearls & Rutherford Pearls, who donated the beautiful first prize in the raffle, Alcaston Gallery, Antler Luggage, Aquila, Aria Docklands, Aromababy, B&C Magnetic Marketing, Barnbougle Golf Links, Betty McDowell Lingerie, 230 Boutique, Bouzy Rouge Restaurant, Calendar Cheese Company, City Car Hire, Channel 9, Cricket Victoria, Crown Metropol, Ebony Ladies Wear, Elite Sports Properties, Endota Spa Flinders Lane, Essendon Football Club, Etihad Airways, Guy Grossi, Hal Salter, Il Duca Restaurant, Independent Cement & Lime P/L, Jaspa Herington, John Alexander MP, Josh Frydenberg MP, Lleyton Hewitt, Maxwell & Williams, Melbourne Dentist, Mike Clayton, Montsalvat, Nowlan Fashion Agency, Pandora on Little Collins, Peter Johnston, Prince, Rhonda Thatcher, Simone Perele, Sisko Chocolate, Sofitel Melbourne, Studio K, Sutton Tools, Tony & Joe Bongiorno, Total Tennis, Union Dining, WTA Tour and Zoe Walsh. How lucky is Kids Tennis Foundation to have such fantastic support from so many wonderful and very generous organizations, companies and individuals! The generous support of THE GILLOOLY OF TALLAROOK red wine, DE BORTOLI WINES & LION AUSTRALIA certainly helped “loosen the purse strings”, of SUKIN SKIN CARE and NOWLAN FASHION AGENCY who donated the table prizes and ensured that there were many happy guests, of TOMORROW AGENCY who designed and produced the fabulous invitations and programmes, of COMPLETE COLOUR PRINTING for the printing of same ensured that this function was not only truly a social success but also definitely a financial one. Special thanks to our KTF National Co-ordinator, Jody Costantino and Sarah Nowlan, and their wonderfully efficient helpers and also to the members of the Kids Tennis Foundation Social Committee for their dedication and commitment prior to and on the night, namely Jane Anderson, Joan Cubbin (NSW), Louise Higgins, Lesley McNamee, Judy Norton, Mandy Nowlan, Julie O’Sullivan and Gianna Trovato. To photographer, Cathy O’Reilly and…….. to all those wonderful people who organised tables, heartfelt thanks. In excess $60,000 raised.......Truly an incredible result! As a result of funds raised, Kids Tennis Foundation will be able to continue to provide coaching programs on a regular weekly basis for many, many disadvantaged children throughout Australia, and, in the process, the boost to their self-esteem and self-confidence the important end result. There is a big short fall between the funding we receive and what it costs to run all our programs, hence our fund raising events are extremely important.
