Kids Tennis Foundation (formerly Oz Tennis) has coached in excess of 250,000 children on a weekly basis in both suburban and country areas in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland, Canberra and Tasmania

VIC TENNIS was founded by Paul McNamee in October 1983 and a Board was established with Paul as President; an Administrator was also appointed at that time to organise and set up the programs. Initially, in Victoria , there were 17 inner suburban programs and one in country Victoria. Today, the number of programs in Victoria alone exceeds 100, conducted through “disadvantaged” Primary Schools in Metropolitan and Country Victoria.

In 1987, VicTennis commenced programs in New South Wales and hence became OZ TENNIS. Currently, there are 30 programs being conducted in N.S.W.

In April 1990, Kids Tennis Foundation (Oz Tennis) was launched in Western Australia with 11 programs. Thanks to the additional support and generosity of the Variety Club in the West, which donates funds raised at auction during the Hopman Cup Ball to Kids Tennis Foundation, programs have numbered 45 for many years now.

Kids Tennis Foundation (Oz Tennis) commenced in the Northern Territory in 1993, specialising in programs with Aboriginal children, some in very remote areas, such as those at Ngukurr, Borroloola and Elliott.

1995 saw the commencement of the Program in South Australia.

Oz Tennis became Kids Tennis Foundation in late 1999 with the Program commencing in Queensland in 2000 and in Canberra in 2002 and, finally, in Tasmania in 2004.

NOW, KIDS TENNIS FOUNDATION IS TRULY NATIONAL.

This quite incredible expansion has been due to the wonderful support of OAMPS INSURANCE BROKERS (Principal Sponsor of Kids Tennis Foundation from 2005-2007) with AMERICAN EXPRESS (through Amex Aces Program at Australian Open from 2005-2007), L'OREAL AUSTRALIA (GARNIER), TENNIS AUSTRALIA with AUSTRALIAN OPEN CHARITABLE FUND and LORD MAYOR'S CHARITABLE FOUNDATION (Vic) through the ELDON & ANNE FOOTE TRUST also providing much needed funds. From 1985-1996 SHELL AUSTRALIA was the Principal Sponsor, certainly a wonderful contribution. 1997-1998 saw TATTERSALL'S as Principal Sponsor and SUNSENSE (Ego Pharmaceuticals) took over this role from 1999-2004, for which Kids Tennis Foundation is truly indebted. HEALTHWAY in WA and VICHEALTH provided funds for many years with great support from DUNLOP SPORT and NESTLE PETERS ICE-CREAM also.

The success of Kids Tennis Foundation is also due to the hard work of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, National Coordinator, State/Territory Administrators, the Social Committee, the Coaches, many fantastic Companies, Organisations, Tennis Clubs and other wonderful supporters, all of whom are involved in one way or another in the Program or in KTF fund-raising functions, events and activities.
